Yes but I have a 3 series and want tall gears so 3.23 is the tallest I can useThey make thicker gears for the series 2, that's really the only difference between the 2 and 3.
Don't chance it with the balancer.Well still no trans. But this week I got my valve cover grommets, fuel feed line and modulater line from in line tube they all fit nicely well still no trans so... Anyway pulled some stuff off of the parts car for it carberetor and linkage, brackets stuff like that. Put the dipstick tube in manifolds on modified the 260 heat shields to fit the 350 so I can run a hot air tube I ended up using the 260 Ballancer because it was all I had hopefully it won't rattle the bearings out of the motor
Tomorrow morning I hope to go back and pressure wash the engine compartment and clean the interior just kinda get it all ready to go back together. Hopefully I get my trans back before next weekend tomorrow I'll take some pictures to post for you guys
Oh yeah I'm going to need a little help with vacuum line routing because my memory is shot. I'm running the 78 cruise control with a quadrajet and a th350 vacuum advance and EGR I'm also using a 442 air cleaner and I put a vacuum temp switch in the intake manifold but I can't remember how to hook it all up
Well right now it's on there because it's all I got to put it together and make it run I found a 350 Ballancer but it's no good the rubber is shot and the outer Ring is clocked about 45° so I'm not using it it's just going to come apartDon't chance it with the balancer.

If the balance between the 260 and the 350 balancers are close enough, then fine, but I wouldn't imo. Nice fresh engine being rattled apart. At least you can find olds balancers. I had to pay 250 for mine, or 500 for an SFI unit. Your motor, your decision. Just some advice is all.Well right now it's on there because it's all I got to put it together and make it run I found a 350 Ballancer but it's no good the rubber is shot and the outer Ring is clocked about 45° so I'm not using it it's just going to come apart
All the olds small blocks are balanced the same but some Balancers are better than others after 77 they don't have a rubber ring so really there not harmonic so they don't do the job as well. If I find one cheep I'll change it down the road but like I said it beats a blank for nowIf the balance between the 260 and the 350 balancers are close enough, then fine, but I wouldn't imo. True. And I guess you'll never know until you start it.
