i prefer the look of the choo choo hood over a 2" cowl. Or the turbo buick or h/o hood. A 2" would only go on my car if I needed it, not a fan of the look but we all have our own opinions. I wish they make an ss chevelle looking hood for g bodies.

Hey Roger, technically no reason you couldn't cut one large or 2 smaller cutouts for some heat extractor effect. You might be surprised at the amount of hot air rushing out of a hood or fender extractor vent.
Another option you may want to consider either instead or along with would be some tasteful extractor vents on the rear sides of the hood . Google Aston Martin hood extractor vents on google images. You'd probably want to fab your own to get a look you'd be happy with . Just a thought......

That was the reason I went with the choo choo hood on my old Malibu.

It reminded me of the true Cowl Induction hood on the Chevelle

Thanks for the reply.
I want to keep the look original so I won't consider any other kind of vents.
I think you are right that I don't need to cut the entire triangle area out. Considering the small size of the opening at the rear of the scoop, maybe a couple of good sized holes would be plenty.
