I'm curious to see what the final output figures on the 2.3 EB are. Long gone are the days when I-4 automatically = "gutless". It makes 310 hp and 350 lb-ft in the Mustang, so even if it came in at 290 hp and 330 lb-ft in the Ranger, that would be a pretty healthy output.

I like the new Jetta, hopefully it'll help VW with their seemingly endless dieselgate recovery.
I just did some reading, apparently it was already under 20k, but obviously now a new generation. Apparently its 100 bucks cheaper than last years even.

The new I6 in the chevys is cool I wonder if its made to be a competitor to the 24v cummins (is that what they use still?) or the V6 ecodiesel. Nissan still uses that 5.0 v8 cummins correct?

The car show is cool, my high school friends and I went for a few years and would make a weekend out of it. Last year we switched it up and went to the Chicago Show. Dont expect it to be full of "car people" though. Kinda like going to a big zoo with all the mobs of soccer moms and dads with strollers.

I hadn't realized that Ford was bringing back the Ranger. I will need to see one in person, but a quick look online it doesn't look bad. It doesn't look any worse that the Canyon/Colorado.

Bronco is coming back too.

Magna (where I toil) is doing the mirrors for it.

The 3.0 I-6 is only for the 1500 model. The big boys already have the 6.6L Duramax V-8. Not really directly comparable to the Cummins. Probably going to come in between 250-270 hp and 440-475 lb-ft of torque. The big draw will be fuel economy. I've driven the Ram EcoDiesel, while the acceleration was acceptable, I would in no way describe it as "quick" or "fast." However, it did really well with a trailer behind it.

I don't think it necessarily looks bad, I was just disappointed with how Ford said we would get our own sheet metal, and we didn't. Trucks are the one segment of the automotive industry that America still dominates, couldn't we at least get our own Ranger? It's kinda like when we got the GTO back and it was just a Holden with some Pontiac emblems on it. At least it will be made it the US though.

The U.S.-spec Canyon/Colorado was significantly different than the global model. The cab was pretty much the same, but the nose and interior were completely different. I think Ford's mentality with the Ranger was "If it ain't broke, why fix it?" Although it was a little disingenuous to say "unique styling." Not really seeing it.

I'm kinda gonna go off on a tangent here, but is anyone else in disbelief that Ram is still offering the Ramboxes on their trucks? I thought they were the dumbest thing in the world when they first came out, and I still think they are pretty dumb. They take up almost 1/3 of the bed space and cost $1300. If you want a lockable box, get a tonneau and save your money and bedspace.

What cracks me up about the Ramboxes is that the Avalanche offered them nearly a decade earlier!

The only one I actually thought was cool was the under-bed trunk in the Honda Ridgelines.

I just hate gimmicky-options. Ramboxes being one of them. The Ford "man step" being another.

I didn't mean to imply that you thought they looked bad, sorry if my post came across as sounding like it did. Having had an 04' GTO (boy, do I miss that car), I guess I am of the mindset if it functions correctly and looks fine, I don't need it to look different from what is available half a world away.
