If you could talk him down to $2400, sell the rear axle for $600 in a day and have a running short block, with everything to eventually convert over to intercooled for $1800. Which would be worth it Rebuilding your '85 motor will cost more than $1800 and when you are done, you won't have ANY parts to eventually convert over to an intercooled car, you'll just have an newly rebuilt 200 HP V6 that nobody likes.
hell yea huh?

Wellston, OK
Assuming it is sound.

I mean, the one in your car now is running, right? So "running" on a CL pullout to me is questionable...who pulls a good engine? Just use caution, lots of people that are less than forthright these days, especially on cars and parts.

People that are V8 swapping these are usually the reason behind pulling out running engines.

Why would you not sell the running engine BEFORE it's out....hundreds of dollars difference between one in a car running and a lump on a garage floor with only a stranger's word as to it's condition?

Just saying I have seen MANY people buy "good running" engines (and transmissions) that were already out that were junk. If it's out, it's worth no more than core price to me, unless I know the seller

When I get ready to pull the 307 in my Regal I am going to try to sell it cheap on CL and post it a couple weeks before I pull it so they can hear it run and they can leave a deposit and I will give them a pull date when they can get it. At least that is the plan.

I agree.

The world does not revolve on intelligence or common sense. And this is the result.
