Can Somebody lead me in the the right direction of buying a new carb that fits my engine?
I have had this quadrajet for a year and now it’s giving me problems .
I wanted to go the Edelbrock route but the quadrajet bolted right up. And I don’t know what type of Edelbrock fits my engine ..
So can somebody help

It’s a 305 engine 5.0l
I don’t know what year it is also

I assume that's the stock intake so you'll be going for another Qjet (as most here would recommend) or a Holley 4175 (their Qjet replacement with vacuum secondaries.) The squre bore carbs need an adapter plate to fit a stock intake. Summit & Jegs has reman "performance" Qjets but none are cheap. You could be better off rebuilding the one you got.

I heard for E-brocks, bolting the box on the engine actually runs better than bolting on the carb itself.

If you feel you need a rebuild, get an Everyday Performance rebuild and you'll thank everyone, AND YOURSELF, later for making that bold move. Very highly rated and he can even replate your carb to make it look brand new again.

Looks like you got a rebuilt unit on there. Depending on who did it, (i.e., big boxstore carbs), they usually just build them to get past the warranty period and start to falter soon afterward.

Looks like that carb base gasket is pissing fuel all over the intake
