My 78 Malibu with a 305 has a 3/8 feed. All of the EFI turbo Buicks also had 3/8" feed lines.
From my own experience, the 5/16" feed lines will not be a restriction unless you are supercharged and well over 500 horsepower to the tires.

One thing I did when I dropped the gas tank for the first time a long time ago I set up the connection point for the lines in front of the gas tank so if I have to drop the gas tank it is easier to disconnect the lines and then drop the gas tank and it's easier to install the tank and then connect the lines.

you should hear the pump working, are you sure you haven't wired the pump backwards?

I got a mechanical fuel pump which i did the bottle test to see if it picks up fuel and it did. So i redid the sending unit, and replaced the fuel filters. I ran a wire to the positive side of the sending unit to the gauge left post, i ran ground in middle and 12v on right post. Power will come from a toggle switch on the panel.

I basicly need to put gas in it and see if it pick up fuel. If it does and it doesnt stay running, im going tryto bypass ignition switch. I literally just found out one of mu spark plugs was not pluged in lol

what kind of pump do you have that requires two 12 volt connections?
No my gas gaugue sir has 3 post on the back when looking from back of gaugue the left post would be to sending unit(intank) the middle would be ground and the right post would be power.
The sending unit it self has one wire for 12v and one for ground.
My fuel pump is mechanical and has no wires.

I thought you had an electric pump. Are you using the old 5/16 vent line for your fuel line? If that line has a hole in it the pump will never draw fuel from the tank
