It's gonna come off as a stupid question but I have to ask since my Chilton's book hasn't arrived yet. Where is the fuel Pump located? In the tank or outside of the tank? Pictures of the pump I am looking at, at Advance Auto site show what looks to be an outside fuel pump. . . I am thinking the fuel pump is bad since I have to poor fuel in carb to get it to start.

make sure the filter in the carb isn't plugged....if the car has been sitting for a long time you might want to remove the carb and soak it diesel fuel over nite. Deisel fuel will not harm anything in the carb but it will remove deposits and varnish and lubricate the linkages.

Had to take a power nap. But when I got out I found the pump. . . the system is loose from it's bolts and hanging off the passenger side close to the Engine. Check out this Jury Rigging the owner previous to the owners I bought the car from did.

At this point I am going to have to wait for my Chiltons Repair Book to come in before I can sort this mess out. Not sure what goes to what here. From the looks of it I am going to have to redo the pump system here connect everything back to where it needs to be get a new Fuel filter with it's casing, new hoses etc. No getting this started for awhile Water and cleaner for the coolant is going to sit for a time too.
