Dumb question.

I'm assuming that even trying to install these things is asking for vibration issues and the like.

Two of my new rotors showed up in boxes that were absolutely hammered.

One was completely crushed, both ripped open in multiple places. After lots of pictures 'as delivered' I moved on to open, examine, and photograph what I found. Other than tears in the inner plastic due to shipping I did not open further.

The 'hub' portion of the rotors, both inner and outer surfaces, have some substantial dents/chunks missing.

The very edge of the rotors have some small seed size notches/dented areas.

My guess is send it back? It'll be summit and wasnt to my knowledge a drop ship. Just hate to push the project back another week or more.

As fast as they spin I'd assume things
like that will make vibration issues, and that's if it doesn't have other issues being bent at all out of round.

Phone them, maybe they will just go ahead and send you new ones without waiting for the old ones to be returned.

Contact Summit they will send you a RMA label and they will pick up the shipping cost.
You can call them and they will hold a credit card and send you out the replacements right away so that they don't have to wait for your return to send them out.

I'd use them. It isn't like FedEx or UPS is going to do any better on the second set.

I had the same experience with Power Stop rotors for the Roadmaster. They showed up with no packing in the box and had beat each other to death. I had bought them from RockAuto. They sent new rotors and didn't want the damaged ones back. The new ones showed up fine and were well packed. The first set, with no packing, mut have been a return.
They went to the scrap yard, brand new. I wouldn't use those damaged rotors that you posted pictures of if it was me.

Pretty much exactly how it played out. I did get contradictory responses though and will need to call again tomorrow.

First guy said just hold onto these for at least 2 weeks in case UPS wanted to either examine them or take them.

Later, received an email that a replacnet pair was being sent out, BUT, if the original set wasn't received back before 30 days I'd get charged for both.

Not sure how I return them if UPS takes them... so we'll see...

themz junk!!!

Thats what I was thinking, but, I hate putting off redoing the brakes. Not currently using the truck because I diagnosed that there's only 2 of 4 brakes on the truck even working at all, and, when hot what does work has issues because master cylinder is failing too.
I'd use them. It isn't like FedEx or UPS is going to do any better on the second set.

Unfortunately, normally I'd have had someone just pick them up directly at summit for me and went back and forth about trying to do just that when ordering. Decided to go with the free shipping because it was easier and saved me paying $20 in gas.

Lesson learned, another week wasted.

Better question is, has UPS resorted to hiring chimpanzee scabs to do deliveries during the pandemic?
