Did you ever get your oil pressure sender resolved?

Kinda , but I dont think the sender is gonna work out. I separated the tan wire off the old factory plug Due to the fact I thought the power wire for the choke circuit was backfeeding, and sure enough once I spliced it in it reads 60 psi..anytime the engine is running. but I bought a 1988 L98 to build and swap in and it had the correct 1 wire sender on it . Looked pretty new too. Ill try it out in a few days

I used an 1988-1992 Silverado 3 pin pressure sensor on my Bonnevile with good results. It has the correct 0-60 calibration instead of the 0-80 calibration that the Vortec ones have. Just use the outside 2 pins as your choke switch and the center pin goes to your sensor wire. I actually use mine for fuel pump control as well, but have that part run through a relay.

Picked up a well used L98 from an 88 camaro , 150 bucks with the intake setup but it sat up a LONG time and the guy said someone had it installed it in a fullsize blazer. Sadly it didnt make it through the storage period.

Think you can have it punched out? Seems it'd be cheaper to find another usable motor.
well first plan was going to be a hot roller cam 305 , so I got a roller block and it turned out to be nearly as bad as this one, I really dont want to buy a 3rd engine, i drove 4 hours round trip and almost went to jail for road rage to get this L98, figured of I needed to spend the money to get machine work done, It might as well be on a 350 . Least I can get some money back with the TPI setup. and looks like the crank is good, or I can get a vortec 350 long block for 300 , and that might wind up having cracked heads, so i think Im just gonna roll with this If I can get away with .040 or under , but the pitting looks pretty deep.

Well today was the day I got off my cheap *ss and got it titled in my name. I've had it over 30 days so they spank me with a late fee for holding out on something they could tax me for. saturday I got around to removing the rear drivers wheel and got to work removing the brake drums and then shoes so I could remove the wheel cyl to go the cheapest thing possible and simply carefully disassemble it and then dump everything in the heated ultrasonic cleaner, for 30 min at 180 degrees or so I then blew everything dry, wire wheeled the outside of the cyl and then honed it to break the glaze and then cleaned it again for 15 min in the uc then blew it off again and then put it back together with the same parts . Installed the good used rear brakes I removed from the S10 I got the rear diff and gears out of along with the S10 drums. bleed it and works perfect. today, broke the tip off the drivers WW arm trying to get off the old wipers . so to the JY tomorrow and hope that cutlass still has one left.
