So I'm having a hard time finding a replacement hydrobooster for my 84 grand national. Every where I look they show out-of-stock. Just finished my ls swap and the stock hydroboost sprung a nasty leak. I bought a universal gm rebuild kit but would much prefer to buy a fresh one. Any leads?

hydroboost and no powermaster right? cant remember what years had what. If hydroboost, my understanding is Dorman was doing the rebuilds, but as with all old things, there is a core shortage and there aren't made new anymore. I bought a reman 4-5 years ago, leaked after the first drive, bought a replacement and sent the core back cause the charge was crazy.

You may have to rebuild it.

Bummer after checking all NY car part websites I was pretty sure that was the case. Well I have a universal gm hydroboost rebuild kit on the way. I also pulled one from a 2500 silverado just in case I could make one of those work. Will see

My understanding is astrovan hydroboost units fit better. I think you need an adapter plate, but I believe are bit more available. Check out this motor trend article. I also think there are a few thread around on the interwebs of people doing his to their gbodies.

I reread my post and now wish I spellchecked the damn thing for grammar, haha.

Good luck and keep us posted, other members search for similar swaps.

Well I cant find any oem hydroboost for a 84 nash so I opted to replace the leaking seal. Looked like the min figure 8 seal was leaking so I swapped it out. The leak has greatly decreased and the power brakes work but it is still weeping fluid from somewhere.

Not sure if it was mentioned but an option I want to try and look into is 96-04 Mustang GT when they went to the Mod motors they had to switch to a Hydroboost because of how wide the useless and sexy sounding the 2v and 4v were. Years ago I bought one on this forum from a diesel Cutlass. I later sold it to a buddy with a Hot Air T-type, which I regret till this day!

e, which I regret till this day!
Ah yes the cutlass diesel should do the trick. Looks just like mine and they have them in stock too.

I know of a yard with a diesel Olds. It way up in Southern NH though. And don’t ship. You could try partshotline.com or a couple other salvage search sites to look for one. Most of the guys on those will ship. Also works great as a interchange look up😏
