Does the turn signal lever also toggle the dimmer switch? This is a non cruise control car

I am honestly not sure if the column is tilt or not
The turn signal switch should do nothing with any interior lights except the indicators.

If you’ve got a tilt column there’s a second lever on the same side as the turn signal switch.

Dimmer switch as in the entire plunger unit? Its brand new. Not that i’d be entirely surprised…but is there a way to test? Can i jump two of the wires for headlights?
If you already replaced then you are good. Pull wiring plug off of headlight switch and see if there is a melted or burnt wire

Okay thanks. How do I identify a tilt column? I know my turn signal lever is busted off I am wondering if tilt lever is busted off as well

The headlight switch has a self resetting circuit breaker in it. Did the old switch shut off and reset like this one?

The headlights are driven by the yellow wire coming from the headlight switch. This goes to the dimmer (high beam/low beam) switch. The out put of the dimmer is tan for the low beam and green for the high beam, these wires go thru the firewall connector to the lights.

ELCAM thanks for the info. I did not know about the circuit breaker. I have so little seat time in this car that I cannot tell you if the old switch was shutting the headlights down or not, only I know it didn't in the garage the few times i used it. It did infact have a bad rheostat (?) the round spring had a break in it

First thing I would do is plug the old switch in and see if it is turning on and off.
