Something other than the Cutlass Supreme that a fits all A/G part is listed as a won't fit? The OE cross members that the El Camino uses is the same as the Malibu. And technically they both are Malibus. Even the Monte Carlo uses the same ones. So with this, yes it fits. The guys doing the interchange just arn't car guys, just key pounders.
I bought a second hand G-force that was used in a '86 MCSS with the intentions of using in a '85 GMC Caballero...I hope it fits???

As long it was ment for the transmisson you're using, it'll be good to go. Have to keep in mind that across the platform The crossmembers interchange. But note that even though some OE crossmembers may have the rubber frame pads they still fit cars with ones with out but will need to reuse hardware & pads. Then with TH200 4R, crossmembers need to have a frame extention on the driver side to fit. Cars built from '85 on (may even be in '84 but others will chime in on that) will be factory set up for both three speed transmissions & the TH200 4R. Earlier cars would need an extension adaptor to mount a TH200 4R crossmember unless it was originally ordered with on (about '83 Olds/Buick & '84 Chevy/Pontiac but those who know better on what years will also chime in.)

OK, an update. The headers are 1-3/4 Hedman Huslers off a 1972 A-body. I spent way too much time flexing, bending and notching them to fit the El Camino, then had them powder coated. Now I am trying to figure out how to use the rest of the A-body 3 in. exhaust system with mufflers. The stock crossmember has been notched but the headers are "too wide" to line up with the existing setup. New thread coming.

Thanks y'all - Southern Engineering at its finest. Building this little hotrod elco for fun trying to economize. too bad nobody can tweak a current header design to fit - it's so close, like 1/2 inch. plenty of room for 2 inch headers, just bend'em a little different. C'mon man

If you have the capability to weld then I would just cut out a notch in your existing crossmember and weld in some plate to fill the area.
Also if the crossmember is currently bolted directly to the frame without rubber isolators you can make solid steel spacers out of 3/8"-1/2" plate and install them under the ends to raise it up more,

thanks for suggestions. Man if I could weld I would be driving something very different. I am a bolt and torque, sand and paint kinda guy.

People tell me to grab a Crown Vic crossmember and trim to fit. That got me to thinking about some crossmembers I already have laying around here like Chevelle and C10, even 50s Fords and possibly Mopar.

Later today, after the frost melts, I will crawl under the car and see what might fit. I would get a G-Force but can't be sure about dimensions, also 300 bucks is a little steep just to make room for driver's side exhaust pipe. I'm saving money for carpet and paint, maybe radio or AC setup.

Not to push you towards it but I had both the Jegs & G-Force for a TH350/Saginaw & the G-Force humps are wider & more spread out than the Jegs humps. I put together a Pypes 2.5" kit with Flowmaster '64-'77 A body down pipes with matched manifolds. Even added Magnaflow spun cats. With out the cats forward the Jegs was tight fit. The G-Force was a better fit. Just had to adjust the passenger side down pipe with the cat & all is good now.
