I was looking to upgrade my little tractor last year. Started looking at the sub compacts. My property isnt big enough to justify buying a true sub compact. A friend of mine bought an X728 from a dealer in OH. Had over 900 hrs but he bought it because it came with a loader. Handy little machine. That being said, when I get finished with the house stuff Im probably going to look for a used low hr X730. The X738 is nice but I havent needed a 4wd tractor since I bought the 112 so Im sure the 730 will be fine.
The BX series looks nice but the biggest turnoff for me is the forward/reverse pedal setup. After having the 425 all these years I would have to have the pedals side by side. Then again, back in my younger years when I worked on a golf course I drove a Ford 4400 at least 3 days a week. Loved the two lever controls for the bucket. Not a fan of the newer joystick controls. Too old school I guess. LOL

So in my incessant FB marketplace scrolling, I stumbled across a Husqvarna 52" zero turn for a decent price. Looked almost new. Wouldn't start per the ad. Had only been up for an hour. Was a hour drive away in the middle of no where.
Went up after work and immediately offered the guy his asking price. Was in great shape, just dirty.
Got it home and had it running in 15 minutes. Starter solenoid was bad, as was the PTO switch. Serviced it, which it desperately needed, and it's been perfect since.
Now to back up a little, we already had a Husqvarna zero turn that I got stupid cheap. A 72" deck too. Decided I could get out of the "old" zero turn, and into this one, which is sized a little better for our lawn, and probably make money in the process.

Had that one sold sight unseen in 1 hour, made a bunch of money on it, used it for 3 years, paid for the "new one" with that cash, and still pocketed $1700 😁

Need the experts to chime in. Dad just moved about a half hour north of us. The new place is 0.5 acre. He's going to need a riding mower. Does this look like a decent deal?

A bit on the high side, I'd feel better around $375-400, but I would steer you away from that particular model. Hydrostatic transaxle is a Tuff Torq K46 and very, very light duty. Like, no hills, don't try to pull a cart light duty.
