Ok crawl in there with a hooked all and pull the latch release wile you push the hood up use your free hand to guide the spring passed the radiator support

I will try again but that's exactly what I tried, and it didn't budge. Will keep trying that and hopefully it will give.
The good old universal fix-it tool. Those make everyone feel like Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor.

Sometimes i call it the tool of persuasion, if I'm pissed then it's a BFH lol!
All joking aside...it might help to have a 2nd set of hands to help pull/tug to try and release the latch and get the spring undone.
Worked on cleaning old oil and grime from the engine bay. Not yet complete, but way better than it was before.

I purchased this Oldsmobile 90th Anniversary service manual for the coupe. This will make a nice addition to compliment the interior, once I get around to replacing it. Oh and I can't forget about the 442 rallys.
