What did you do to your g-body today 2025 Edition!

Little things here and there.
As usual bolt on parts don’t just bolt on.
The factory washer doesn’t clear the dust cap on the Wilwood hubs. A little trimming on the wash and that worked. Got the UMI tie bar in with the JTR upper coil over mounts. Fuel system 98% done. Waiting on two -8 straight ends to finish that. Tried a different route on the trim. I wasn’t happy with the finish on the DipYourCar HyperDip. The color was darker than expected, almost black looking. The finish itself was also quite rubbery, could’ve been my fault, just not what I was looking for. Tried some Dupli-Color Perfect Match in a Chrysler Charcoal Grey Metallic. Definitely liked how that turned out. Undecided whether I want to do a matte/satin finish or gloss on the trim.
Fittings should be here today. At which point all plumbing would be done and I can focus on interior and wiring.

That Charcoal Grey looks like it’d really pop with a gloss clear, imo

Had the fuel tank out since November, and I thought I was decided on 2 external pumps but after finishing up the new dual feed pickup plate, I think 2 in tank pumps are back on the table:

(All aboard the Bubblegum Weld express!)
I’ve got a lot of cleanup to do, but I think I can fit 4 electrical studs on here with room to spare for a 3/16 hanger rod. The issue is fitting a second pump isn’t all that feasible with the tank opening since it’s only 2” and most pump bodies are 1.5”. I could probably do it, but I’m not confident I can make a hanger that’s sturdy enough yet easy to assemble inside the tank, since I’d need to remove one pump to pull the whole unit.
However, the fuel tray in the tank continues another 6” past the hole….

Janky stand in or not, move a pump over to the right side of the tank with a separate hanger secured to the inside of the tank using either studs, or longer bolts running through from underneath! Make this the secondary pump to preserve its life, and I think this will work without the need for a much bulkier pump. I’m looking at 2 Deatschwerks DW65c’s for this, I’ve only got 6-1/2 inches to work with and those take up around 4-1/4 with a filter so they should fit without needing to have tight bends in the feed line.

Still a project for the far future, but I think this should work nicely.

Finally got the sanyo installed. I ended up going to multiple stores, even a specialty stereo shop trying to find kits other than metra, but it turns our metra is the end all be all of install kits apparently. I bought a different kit that still says its for gm cars in the same year range, but it went together in seconds. Used the factory side brackets.

Also got a new dash plaque from Peter P, all the way from Ontario.

Today I figured out how to get around the shift linkage issue I was having. First removed the headman long tube header from driver side and cut close to three inches out after the collector but before the bell that was rewelded on. Then installed the pypes 2.5 inches exhaust system and I could angle the bell connecting pieces so they fit nice but don’t hit the shift linkage , it’s damn close but it clears. Took three days off work to get a bunch of stuff done so it can go to the paint shop.
