What did you do to your g-body today 2025 Edition!

Had it towed home...

Old starter quit, and I lost my park/ headlights & cigarette lighter. Lighter has no power coming out of it but may be receiving it, headlight switch does have power & operates interior lights, fuses all good- need to probe each contact though, grounds & wires by headlights are all present and tight. Starter gear simply ate itself.

Good thing I have the 6470S:

I know, I know. At least it's their brand and not Value Craft. At the time it was not only the most affordable quality option on Rock by an alarming amount, but I found it to have equal or better reviews than the brand new Delcos. New is preferred but even as a re-man this sucker is supposed to be $250 (though you already know that). Ultimately, I paid about the same as for a standard old factory replacement for our cars- less than $100.

My Delco "Professional" remanufactured alternator came with this but it doesn't make me feel any fuzzier just because it's GM Service Department approved. Still a re-man:

Other important parts were purchased brand new but you haven't met them yet- they go to another school. And I was PRAYING that someone would make a Blues Brothers reference, thank you!

Starter has been changed and my other issues were due to bad fusible links. One was completely severed and the other hanging by 2 itty bitty strands of copper. Now I'm off to get tags for my non G Body project.
