What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

Since I have to wait for OPGI to get a few backorder Item's in. I went ahead and decided to buy the 1980 M80 Rear Spoiler - Found Here - http://www.body-panel.com/details.asp?ID=6989. $575.00. Site says 4 to 8 Weeks for shipping. Crossing fingers that there aren't too many on order so I can get it sooner than later.

Noting today but earlier in the week got the master kit for the TH400. Going to pull the 2004R and replace with the TH400. During COVID and after too much beer got bored did some donuts in the empty field and neutral dropped it at about 3500. Yeah, it didn't like it so much. So it's been sitting at friends house languishing and need a new Transmission. Then got a big block for it, so next I can see how long that will go until I break the diff.

Wednesday I had a one day trip to Miami. While scrolling through the FB marketplace I found a brand new oxblood carpet.
Although the one in my car is relatively new and looks perfect condition wise. It always fit like @$$ it never leveled out, had big bumps along the front under the dash and the pockets in the rear footwell also. It was fanciest option they had, essex with mass backing that has just crumbled and falling apart. The new one is cutpile with without the mass backing. Personally I think the cutpile might actually look better.

Also finally after 6 months of waiting I picked up my front wheels yesterday.
Going to installed the tires today and decide out much I need to lower the front.

I, too, got the cutpile with the backing that came on it and I was very happy with it. The cutpile seems to have more of an old school look.

I haven't bought carpet for the Cutlass yet but got some for a truck, and agree that while the Essex is "fancier" it just doesn't look quite right. It's got to be cut pile or closed loop.

So I went in to the yard and followed up on my initial chat about bringing in the RH side quarter panel for my 85SS. Frank says, it's available but it will be early June before it shows up. Okay, fine, throw some money at it and wait works for me so went that route. Today, one week later, my voice mail informs me that I have a message from the yard: my body panel is in. Now the last time I checked the calendar it was still May and inclined to remain so for another couple of weeks. 😕. So I give them a call and yes, it did come in 3-4 weeks earlier than anticipated and would I come and get it because it is large, long, and heavy. Probably fairly heavily and sturdily packed to prevent being dinged or twisted.
The plan was to wander over there in my travels and pick it up but, surprise #2, I've been asked if I can come in for an unscheduled rotation at work. Seems they must have hit the bottom of the barrel again and there I was. Thing here is that work is work and it puts a few shekels back into the bank account, which is always useful and the week is open at this point so I lose nothing by going except my mind and my low stress level.

0.5" extended lower ball joints. This should put me where I want to be. I need to measure my current uppers. I think they are already extended but I don't think they are 1".
