No, not the fule pump, the motor is getting plenty of fuel, almost too much, thats why i think its the spark control mod. Havent thought about the computer cause it was running for a week or so, wasnt running great, but it was drivable

OK, i swapped out my old worn 4.3 out of my 86 for a fresher 4.3 out of an 88. I have had alot of proplems with the car not running right. I have adjusted the timing all over, replaced the distributor, module, coil, cap, rotor, wires, plugs and still cannot get it to run right. It runs strong...

yeah, always good to have good info. Everything is in and back together, and now its running like poo. No power and it keeps wanting to die when i come to a stop, not sure what the issue is, but plan on getting some more hours on it tommorrow

ooops, i appologize, i actually had the THM200, looked at it today when the junk yard people came and picked up the old motor. Atleast thats what i think, haha :blam:

good reference there, and that confirms what i said in my original post, the transmission i pulled was a 700r4 and the one i swapped it with is a 2004r. And i will promise you, they are the same length. I used all the original equipment but did have to modify the crossmember to get it to work...

I am getting ready to drop in my fresh 4.3l and the trany that is with it is the THM200-4R and the one that came out is the TMH700-R4. Looking at the transmission's side by side the dimensions are pretty much the same but the bracket for the crossmember is in a different spot. Do i need the bracket...

yeah, installing the FM on the trunk lid will help with your sub firing towards the lid. Nice install though, looks clean. how do you plan on finishing the trunk floor? Maybe just a few trim panels covering it up? Being a MECP first class installer, i know how difficult it can be to make...

Well after many hours and alot of elbw grease my rebuilt 4.3L is ready to drop in the old Monte, here are some pics. looks pretty good, now i am working on getting the engine bay prepped and cleaned for the new motor tell me what you guys think

i would appreciate it alot any help would be gladly accepted, i am gonna head up to the junk yard after work and see if i can find 1. Gonna try and get the motor fully assembled today and in this weekend.

Its been a while since i have been on but the Monte is getting alot of work done. I recently bought another 4.3 from my brother in law and have tore it down and completely rebuilt it. I am assembling the motor fully before dropping it in and cannot remember for the life of me what brackets go...

looks like some work but a good starting base. Good luck and keep us posted
