I was going to remove the intake to check the gaskets eventhough there was no oil leaking in the area of where the gasket is.
I did however, called the previous owner and asked him if they had used the correct gasket for that intake. He said that when he bought the edelbrock intake,he asked the...
Yesterday morning I checked all around the intake including the intake bolts and there were no leaks anywhere other than at the 4 center bolts of the intake.I removed the 4 bolts and all 4 had oil in the threads.I decided to replace all 4 center bolts.
Before I installed the new bolts,I put...
No,its not the covers ,I cleaned all around the valve covers and there is no oil coming out of there. Its coming out where the bolts thread to the heads.I am wondering that maybe the bolts that are being used now are not of the same diameter as the oem bolts.
There is a washer in each bolt but...
Hell everyone here.Just wanted to see if you guys can give me an idea as what to do to stop the oil leak at the 4 center bolts of the intake. The previous owner installed a edelbrock intake and use the bolts that came with the edelbrock intake, they are not the original bolts. The other bolts don't...
On that radio, you should have a Yellow wire,a red wire, and a black wire besides all your speaker wires.Make your connections directly to your fuse box.The yellow wire goes to full 12v constant. This is to supply panel and clock power. The red is connected to a switched 12v,which means you only get...
I will be taking the valve cover off later this week to see how the valves look as far as the adjustments.I will post again after I get in there.Thanks.

Thank you guys for your help. I ran a test on the oil pump and the pressure is good, does not drop after driving it for 30 minutes or so.Pressure at idle is 20 and 60 when going down the road.I think that eliminates the oil pump being bad. Before I remove the valve cover,I tried a can of mystery...
Thanks Guys. Well, after doing the oil pressure test when cold and than after engine was hot,it all checked out ok.oil pump is working ok.Had 50psi of oil going down the road, never dropped below that.
I got me a mechanics stethoscope and put it over the valve cover and I can hear the lifters...
Thanks to all of you guys with your excellent suggestions.I think I will check the headers first, than hook up a oil pressure gauge since my truck only uses a light for oil pressure sensing. What is a normal pressure reading on this 350 motor? I would think maybe 15/20 at idle and up to 60 under...
Hello to all here at the forum. I have a question regarding my 79 el camino that has a 350 motor. When engine is cold, its nice and quiet, runs smooth. After I drive it for about 15 minutes,I can hear the lifters knocking.I can hear it only on the driver side, the passenger side is quiet.I bought...
I'm going to check prices on replacing the stock gauges first. If not too bad,I will order some and if not,I will go ahead and put them under dash.Thanks.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I'm still fighting this problem of hesitation.I called the guy that rebuild my carb. but will be out of town till Monday. So,since I can't talk to him til Monday,I'm going to work on the dash. Some of the little lights are out.Oh, by the way,is there another way...
