Re: sbc tpi swap with vortec heads! into 87 cutlass formerly
You want at least a 5/16" return line. A 1/4" return would restrict flow back to the tank and your idle pressure would be too high. Since you use the least amount of fuel at idle, that's when most of the fuel would be going back to...
I don't have a sound clip or vid, sorry. I have used Pete Jackson gear drives for years, before they even made a *noisy or quiet* version. I also had the noisy version in a TPI car and had not a minutes trouble with any of them.
Mine were loud enough to be heard but you could still carry on a...
When I went from the granny pac to the rally gauges I had to do some moving of terminals but I used the very same linf to go mine and they came out great. As was mentioned, the gauges are over 20 years old now and mine weren't the most accurate. It seems as if it's hit or miss.
Re: got ****ed by a deer today
What ins company you with? I'm surprised they didn't total it. Glad they didn't!
I'm getting ready to put my Cutlass back on the road and Bambi is bad in my area, too. Had 3 bounce off my 91 LeSabre in the last few years. I wasn't going to go the full...
If you do need the clearcoat buffed out, I'd pay the shop that did the paint work to do it. Hopefully they put on enough clear to buff out and not burn thru. If they just put on enough clear to look shiny, then the buffing may cut thru 1 or 2 coats right thru the clear. If they do it, they...
There have been discussions of this before, might do a search for that. I'm using a hollow 36mm f-car bar on mine. The hollow bar supposedly is about as ridgid as a smaller bar but lighter or something like that. I can't remember the specifics right now, it's been a while.
Might want to...
How much 134 did they put in? I'm no a/c expert but I believe the amount of 134 is differant than R12 needed. I think most shops will add and monitor temps will filling. I've heard too much 134 will decrease cooling but I'm not sure.
What dia rim you looking at? You want the largest 15" or you looking more for bigger than 20" rims?
Are you willing to do a frame notch or do you want to leave the frame stock?
Need more info...
mid 80's to early 90's would be the ones to look for. Not sure on the exact year breaks.
The above is all you need to do. I think the pitman arm length may be differant so get it too so you can compare lengthwise.
Not knowing which rear disc setup you're considering, here is a how-to on installing the 98-02 f-body *LS1* rear disc brakes. These are probably one of the easiest and cheapest yet most effective rear disc swaps out there.

It will be fine. I saw the pics before you sent it and it is nice. It's staying packaged up until I get ready to install it.
I need to take pics of the *cocoon* (or maybe *tomb* would be a better term...) this dash is packaged in!!! Houdini would've never gotten outta this one ...
Mine is from an 88 or 89 IROC with the 16" wheels. There is a code on the round circular end of XH. This is the quick ratio sport type road feel. The Z28 has a simular box with the same quick ratio but a slightly softer road feel. I believe it's code is YA but don't quote me on that. Then...
I'd give them a call and see if they'll pull and ship them to you. If not, I'd almost bet someone here has them, too. There's a lot of cars being parted out around here.
Those seats look sharp. If you get them painted black, so much the better.
One question through. Are these Pontiac seats the same as say a Cavalier or such? I've wondered about them myself. They (the Cavalier seats) look a bit wide for a g-body. They sit nice though.
On mine, which I bought already modified, I used the 3rd gen pdeals but the g-body mounts were welded/brazed to the 3rd gen pedals. This setup seems to work fine for my mechanical linkage. I wonder if swapping to oem g-a body pedals would have any direct differances? Might or might not. I...
