    Anyone here use MegaSquirt ECU?

I know this thread is kinda old, but I've been looking into the megasquirt too. Turns out that there is some self-tuning capability if you use the upgraded version of TunerStudio. The few reviews I could find on it sounded promising...

    Monte Carlo VFN Rear Clip?

Yes, mine still has all the internal supports. I was thinking a more rigid part would be easier to make line up with the rest of the body, but even a small bump would probably be a big problem. Sounds like a factory setup is a better option. I was on the fence and really just needed someone to...

    Monte Carlo VFN Rear Clip?

Anybody ever installed one of these? I'm thinking about using one for my street car to get rid of the floppy urethane, but I'm wondering about fitment of lights and the license plate bracket. The picture is tiny, but it's all they have on their site. http://www.vfnfiberglass.com/8188monterear.JPG

    Meet Rusty

I just put it up on the lift and it seems to be alright. It could use brakes and an oil pan, but all in all its not too bad. Mine is an automatic though, so if I'm working on the transmission, its not good news.

    Meet Rusty

Well, after braving 2 winters in upstate NY in my Monte, I now have an alternative vehicle. This is Rusty, a '97 Subaru Outback with 200,000 miles. I got it from my mom's boyfriend who just got himself a truck. Its not the best looking car out there, but its not too bad either. Plans for this...

Anybody in NY Need Doors or a Fender?

I saw this on craigslist yesterday http://binghamton.craigslist.org/pts/4658654063.html and almost bought them on impulse. Then I realized that I already had a pair of doors waiting to go on my Monte and I don't have storage space for extras. Hopefully someone can grab these before they get used...

    Calling All HID Users

They would definitely make it look cleaner, but I want to be able to get in there quickly if there's a problem, like a bad bulb. I'm keeping a set of halogen bulbs in the car in case the HIDs screw up for some reason.

Kinda hard to see, but the ballasts are mounted to the sides of the air tunnel in front of the radiator.

    Calling All HID Users

Yes, they have the 3 post plug. I mounted my ballasts to the air tunnel. I'll post pics tonight if I get a chance.

    Calling All HID Users

For the outside, you need an H4 style projector housing and a bi-xenon HID kit. Those have a shield around the bulb that moves the beam direction when you go from hi to low beam. Like...

    Calling All HID Users

After a lot of waiting for parts and running a bunch of wires, I got my HIDs in! I went for a test drive at midnight and the difference was amazing. I could see better and farther on low beams than I ever could on high with sealed beams. High beams are almost too bright, but I'll get used to it...

    Mesh Headlight Stone Guards

Yeah, they're on an SS. I think they will add to the um, look that I've got now. Rust and dented doors all covered with rattle can flat black with black steel wheels. Eventually, I'll have it all painted nicely. But for now, I think it does a pretty good job of scaring old ladies and anyone else...

    Mesh Headlight Stone Guards

I know that this might sound weird, but for some reason I think those wire mesh stone guards would look kinda cool on my car. Plus, I just ordered Hella conversion bulbs, so I'd like to keep them in one piece. Anybody know where I could find some? I've looked all over and still haven't found...

    Calling All HID Users

Well I got curious about this whole shorting issue, so I took the bulbs out of the projectors. Both were blown, and yes, the bulb in the picture is melted. I don't know how that is really possible, but it happened. HID stuff is on the way now :D

    Calling All HID Users

Well it turns out the ebay projector lights I got for Christmas were bleeding power over to the high beams. :wtf: I switched back to sealed beams and the lights work like they should.

There are just 2 grounds to the core support for the headlights right?

    Calling All HID Users

That was my plan for tomorrow. That and trying a new headlight switch. The dimmer for the interior lights is being finicky, so I need a new one regardless.

    Calling All HID Users

Those bulbs were just put in in December, and the high bulbs do work, they are just dim. Somehow the hi bulbs are getting power from somewhere when they shouldn't be.

The wiring is still factory. As far as I can tell, nothing has been spliced or cut.

    Calling All HID Users

I just checked the wiring diagram and the inner high bulbs aren't even in the low beam circuit. So the switch must be shorting out right?
