    86 442- Worth It?

Looks like someone ended up buying it for $900.

Are moog tie rod ends still worth the extra money??

I pretty much use MOOG problem solver suspension parts on anything I have. No issues yet. If I can't get the MOOG then I usually get the premium NAPA part locally. I generally buy all my parts through RockAuto for pricing reasons most of the time.

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

Where would I be looking for the numbers on the engine and trans to see if they are #'s matching?

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

I am going to try to get up there in the next couple of days to look at it. I am also going to try and drag my 79 out and see what shape it is in before I make any decisions.

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

Looks like only around 537 were made with T-tops. A pretty hard find. I will have to think about it I guess.

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

You know I wondered that too. One of the pictures looks straight and the other looks like it is at an angle.

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

Sorry for the monster size pics. I was told that the previous owner took out the t-top and door weather stripping so it is not there. I did ask about the trim behind the tops for the roof and he said he thought he had it in the pile of parts. It looks like the drivers quarter has had some work...

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

Posting from my phone so bear with me. Called the guy. Car was disassembled when he bought it and sanded down to metal. So what I thought was brown paint is surface rust now. Been sitting in a garage for the last nine years. Some parts are missing. He has an olds 350 and trans. He also has a...

    How can I verify a 79 Hurst?

I put a feeler out on a local page for either a 79 Cutlass or 85-87 442. This guy sent me a couple of pics of his 79 Hurst. I have yet to call him but wanted to see what I should be checking for if I pursue this inquiry. It is a T-top car that is disassembled. I have a pic of the header panel...

    86 442- Worth It?

I have just been on the fence about digging my 79 cutlass out and starting on it or just finding a nice 442 to start on. Always been an Olds guy.

    86 442- Worth It?

Yep. That is what I am thinking too. It was 1950 but it dropped a couple of days ago. It's on Seattle craigslist. I haven't had time to look into it with harvest season in full swing. Probably not going to bother. It does look from the pis to be in half way decent shape though.

My vote is check fuel pump, filter and check lines for leaks like stated above.

    86 442- Worth It?

I saw this for sale online. Part of the ad reads this "1986 Oldsmobile 442 original 88000 miles interior and body in good condition motor turns over runs and drives BUT!! I'm going to be selling it as a non running car". I might call on it although it would have to be shipped half way across...

    Dragging the 79 back out?

I would like to see a pic of this body style done with the 85-87 paint colors and style with stripes.
