    ROTM: November goes to...

Bump from the dead, but I didn't want to start a new topic for this - just logged in for the first time in quite a while (on baby #2 now so not much time for the cars these days) and thought I recognized the Monte at the top of the page (even with the shaker shaved off ;) ) Flattered again...

    Mark VIII fan install

So , to the best of your knowledge, are the true 2-speed fans from (early) 1993 only then?

    Mark VIII fan install

Here's a thread on the subject over at pro-touring (where you seem to have acknowledged/seen two speed fans at that time?): http://www.pro-touring.com/showthread.p ... k-VIII-fan What I've always understood/read is that the earlier fans were a true two speed type and the later models went to...

    ROTM: November goes to...

It actually wasn't even planned - my wife was going out for a walk while I was outside. The garage door happened to be open and I looked at the baby, looked at the car, and said hang on a minute :) ...I plan to take another of her sitting on the trunk under the spoiler once she can hold...

    ROTM: November goes to...

Thanks again guys! I have to admit, it hasn't seen much road time, but I got through almost two tanks this summer as opposed to only one last year. If I had a real two car garage I would get it out a lot more, but I have to pull the GTO out first to take the Monte for a drive, and you can...

    1986 2+2 differences

That is VERY strange how there are two different ways they did the rear glass considering it's a one year only, low production car. The Monte Aerocoupes had different seals (and glass) between the two years, but it's strange to see a difference on a one-year only model.

    1986 2+2 differences

Every original 2+2 I've seen has the blacked out area between the door and quarter windows. This is one thing I think really makes them look better compared to the Monte Aerocoupes as it makes the back window look like less of an afterthought. I know someone locally with a 2+2 and IIRC the...

Installed my GNS Performance Tach Bracket

I have to ask - what's the household light switch for? :)

    electric fans

If you click on the image, it will blow up larger like this: It's a two speed version: There are two different types - see above image. Yours will have the inspection cover and if you pop it off, you'll see two of the terminals are actually tied together. Ford changed the design in...

    electric fans

Mark VIII here as well. No fan matches it for cooling - factory or aftermarket. Here's some pics of my install and wiring diagrams: http://www.motortopia.com/cars/1985-che ... -fan-19654 ...if you notch the bottom of the shroud, it will sit low enough to look right with a factory Cutlass top...

    hood insulator?

They make them for Monte's. Not sure about Malibu, but the Monte one may fit with perhaps a little trimming: http://www.carmotorsports.com/UHI_Monte_Carlo.htm

    hood insulator?

Definitely won't hurt the paint - I never installed one after it was painted for the shaker and even the paint on the underside looks new. Remember most cars never came with one from the factory. I'm sure it was almost strictly for sound deadening, and even if it was intended as a fire...

    Looking for monte guru

I believe this was the standard sbc setup starting in 1985. My '84 SS had all V-belts, but my '85 SS (originally) and my parent's factory sbc '87 Cutlass and '88 Caprice all have the serpentine belt for the alternator.

    1985 Grand Prix concept car?

The rear seat braces aren't part of the F41 suspension package if that's what you mean? ....and they are there (I've actually never seen a GP without them):

    1985 Grand Prix concept car?

As mentioned, the explaination of the mileage is simple if it was a GM test car as claimed. The suspension on that car appears to be stock ride height for any G-body.

    Monte Carlo in movie

The bad part about seeing a cool car in a movie, is you know, every single time, they are going to destroy it. Hollywood is so predictable and unfortunately have ruined many great classics for two seconds of entertainment.

    1985 Grand Prix concept car?

The description mentioned on this page matches this car: http://www.pontiacserver.com/gph3_9.html The spoiler is the same style as T/A spoilers of the same vintage: ...but as mentioned, I'd want to see some paper work before shelling out any cash for such a car. I personally think the...

    1986 Pontiac 2+2 information

PHS documents? That is one huge advantage Pontiac guys have over the other divisions as it is positive proof that a vehicle is what it is - nearly impossible to to fake something with the exception of a VIN swap. Has he sent you a copy? If not, I'd request it... does it state anything about...
