ok so im finalizing my shopping list for this run of parts. i have an empty spot in my a pillar pod. so looking for one more autometer ultra light gauge to run. currently have vac, oil pres, water temp, volts. car is a manual trans so what would be the best gauge to add. fuel pressure, air fuel ratio or another. then it comes to elec or mech if it has the option lol. seems like the wideband air fuel is about $225 and the elec fuel pressure is $210 lol. i know im full of simple questions lol

I would personally go with an electric Ultralite II fuel pressure gauge, I have one for my nitrous fuel system and it is also on my pillar pod. I have a mechanical Autometer fuel pressure gauge in my dash for just the engine and you have to run an isolator in the engine bay and braided lines to and from it. My electric one I bought on E-bay new for $145 so just shop around for the best price if you go that route and also it far better lighting than the older styles.

how would you plumb the elec in with a mechanical fuel pump, fitting wise etc?

You would need 2 fuel lines, and put a T-fitting in the middle. Easiest thing to do would be to add a regulator.

Id go with the fuel pressure, or Oil temperature.

im really leaning on the fuel pressure and just putting say a t fitting straight out of the pump with an adapter down to 1/8" npt. this should work shouldnt it.

For my electric fuel pressure gauge I have a 4an braided line coming off my regulator that goes to a 4an -1/8npt - 90 fitting that I welded to a bracket that mounts to the firewall and the sender just screws into that.
Also the Ultralite II electric fuel gauge has about 8' of line for the sender which opens up your options where to mount it, I wanted mine close and out of the way, plus I would rigid mount it.

so for this setup could i just use one of the output ports on the regulator instead of blocking it off. also right now i dont have the money to do the whole fuel system in braided stainless so can i use standard fuel line and hose clamps for now?

You could use an unused outlet port from your regulator and just put an adapter fitting in where a plug would be and screw the sender in that. If I recall the pressure sender was rather shallow unlike a temp sensor so I don't think you need much depth to mount it.

ok cool. now the last major question is should i use hose barbs and hose clamps to plumb in the fuel pressure reg or something like the parker push lite race hose? its about a $95 difference in build price. and i believe i would need no more than 10ft of fuel line (mech pump to reg, reg to carb)
