So I haven't updated this in a while but I've gotten a few things done. I got the engine back from Bill Trovato at BTR. It's now a 383 stroker. Scat crank and rods, Mahle pistons, Comp hyd. roller cam, Edelbrock E-Street heads, Performer intake, Everything is new except for the block and bearing caps. Here's some pics of the short block waiting to be assembled!

Maybe it is the small town hill billy in me but my favorite vehicle, hot rod has always been a pick up truck. I picked up an 86 c10 about 2 years ago and built a 355 for it. Ran into money issues and sold the roller. Kinda miss it a little. I like what you're doing with it. Nice ride.

I have the exact same truck. It has been sitting in my back yard for years. I bought it only because my brother in law needed money and I i bought it from him wit the intentions of him buying it back when he could. A guy stopped the other day and offered to buy it and it got me thinking of doing something with it. I have been thinking of doing a 383 stroker like you did. I am trying to set up a budget for this project and was wondering how much it will cost to do this? I have never done a project this big before. I have only rebuilt 2 engines in my time and they were both 4 cylinders. What do I need to look out for and I would appreciate some pointers from some experienced gear heads.
