The season is long over, the car is taken apart and awaiting upgrades. Here are a few more pictures from last summer.

looks sweet what your plan for next year?

No quite sure decided yet what I'm doing with the engine. I'll at the least swap the crank and rods for better stuff. Swap the cam out for something with just a tad more life and more duration while still keeping it on pump gas. If I build a new motor it will be a 434 with my brodix track ones, 10.5 compression, low .700 lift cam..... just depends on the funds.

I know for sure I'm swapping the 4.11 gears out for 4.88's and installing a rack and pinion. Looking to run 9's on pump gas next year.

Sold my small block and picked up a big block built by Crower back in the day for one of the pump gas challenges. It's running mechanical alcohol injection and went 9.20 in a 2800 pound el camino.

I am going to change out the cam to better suit the 12 to 1 compression.

Here are the specs of the engine. With the cam change I think it will pick up 100 HP.

OEM mark 4 - 2 bolt block converted to 4 bolt billet Milodon caps, front and rear billet mains, Crower 4.100" stroke and 4.325" bore, 12.1 JE pistons with spl. .927" wrist pins and spl. 2.100" rods on Crower light weight forged 4340 crankshaft and Crower light weight billet 6.550 rods. Heads are Brodix cnc ported oval ports 2.300 / 1.90 with plus 400 cfm flow...and 102cc combustion chambers. Springs are Crower 68755 and super 7 degree titanium retainers and 1.7 Crower full roller rockers (stud mount) and Crower girdles, and sever duty Crower roller lifters, Milodon gear drive, oil pump, oil pan and Brodix Single 4 barrel hi rise for 4500 series dominator carb, ATI damper and flywheel. The cam is a 4-7 swap firing order and it's .705" lift and 268 degree's at .050" on 112 lobe centers. 742 hp @ 6500 and 645 ftlbs peak at 4500 rpm.

Should be a fun year and looking to dip into the 8's....

Tim

Got the engine picked up and bolted in the car. Gotta figure out headers, front mount fuel cell for the alcohol injection.

I'm waiting to order a different cam until I have everything else bought to get the car on the track. The cam crower recommended will make 871hp at 7500 rpms, and 675 foot pounds of torque at 5300 rpms.

Here are a few pictures with just the engine sitting in place.
I have to cut a hole in the hood.... Not to happy about that so I might buy a flat hinged fiberglass hood to cut up.
