Me too! Always wanted one, and it was close and it was cheap (for Finlands standard, we dont have many those S10's). The rear end of the frame is rotten, thats the biggest problem. Don't really know what to do with it exactly yet, I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and start to messin' around with it, kind of a small budjet project 🙂 I will put couple of photos here if you guys don't bother it's not a g body 🙂

Maybe start a build thread in the 'Non-G Projects' section.

The cam break-in seems like a success! No metal particles in the oil (well there were some but doesn't seem serious). The bad thing is that I have a tiny coolant leak from the driver side head. Need to retorque the head bolts if that is the problem?

Went for a little testdrive, the carb is ways away from being anywhere near what it should be, and it's cold down here (so the tarmac is pretty slippery) but tried it a bit about 1/3 to 1/2 throttle, spinned the rear wheels the 1st and 2nd gear and it took 0-60mph pretty fast, pulls real nice 😛

Looks great! Glad you got it running. I'll defer to the Olds experts on the coolant leak.

The phone microfone kills the sound pretty badly, I think it sounds way better in person. But its a proof to you guys that it does run!

On the video, the idle was set about 900rpm.

The time flies! Forget about my thread here! The engine has been working great, biggest issue is to get it to grip, looks good burning tires but its slow way to get of the line 🙂 I been measuring with my phone gps, don't know how accurate it is, but I been getting 0-60mph times like 5,4-5,5 seconds.

Then the problems started to happen, 2nd gear from that th200-4r started slipping, couldnt take the torque of that 403 😛 The transmission is now in pieces, the forward drum was toasted, that was also the reason it had started slipping, where the second gear band grips, it was all wrapped and nowhere near straight! Found a new(Dont know if its refurbished?) drum for a decent money, I'm also going to plug the 1-2 accumulator, and do a dual feed mode on it.

Everything seemed fine, I think it will be able to take a lot more punishment when I do the mods on it, basically I'm not going to do it more than its necessary, hope it holds...
