1980 GRAND AM

That's a really cool looking car. The Grand Ams always kind of flew under the radar. I also think that they're probably a future classic. I looked at a 1980 Grand Am that was up for sale on this site just over a year ago. It was a California car, and it had the 305 Chev engine in it. The owner eventually broke the car up for parts.
Are those the original wheels on your car? In the photos, it looks like the wheels might be a bit larger than original. Looks good though.

You are correct! Wheels are 15x7 off a 76 TA with 215/65/15 Eagle GT +4's same size wheel and tire combo used on the later 80' s G bodies (GN,Monte SS,442 etc) I did use factory centers from the orig rally iv's!

Nice Grand Am, looks great! I love the 78-80s. Although my 79 is almost completely original, and is still in decent condition, it has about 80K more miles on it than yours. It is oddly optioned too (sign of the times, when you could order almost anything you wanted), I just got the PHS on it last week. It has the 79-80 GA & GP only wire wheels, automatic climate control, power glass sunroof, PW, PDL, RWD, tilt, limited slip, and Rally RTS handling package, and deluxe velour int. BUT it doesn't have a console, gauges, or cruise control.

Anyway, always great to see another 78-80 Grand Am, thanks for sharing.

Hey Ken, The car looks nice. The stripe looks great too!
I'll look for the piece for the sport steering wheel. I know I have it in Iowa, so I could swipe it from a complete wheel.
It's nice to see the car make it back to NY

Big Pontiac guy here and have owned 9 Grand Am's over the years. I just sold a wonderful low mileage 75 Lemans Sport. Here is my showroom quality 1980 Grand Am, even rarer special ordered bench seat and column shift. This car has every option from factory moon roof to power bench seat and working 8 track player. Original power house (lol) 301 with still factory CAT and single exhaust. Current plan is 468 Pontiac stroker (motor is ready)

and bucket seats with floor shifter. I was hesitant to change a factory original car and it was for sale but no real interest and,

since my other car sold its time to make this mine and all its glory.
