Here's a 6.0L with a cam, valve springs, and headers, that's north of 500hp. Hence, cheap and easy.

I said nothing about a 6.0 and here’s why. The mass of Ls people that I see rattling off defensively ignore a 6.0 like the plague because they cost $600 instead of the $200-300 that they give for a 4.8 or 5.3 and it causes them to go over budget? A 6.0 is a much better choice though.

Local classifieds have (albeit complete from intake to pan) 6.0s for like $1500.
Prices are only getting higher

The 403 is compromised motor, anyone with eyes can see that. But for a street motor it is a great platform. I am building one with a 3.5" stroke, roller cam, 2004R and 3.90 gears. No platform is cheap, don't care what you build. In 20 years the LS won't be cheap to build boosted motors, all the cores will need total overhauls. I get their advantages but some of us through apples to apples comparison, my 94 Olds 350 Z71 is a great example out performing a 5.3 with the same drivetrain behind them. On paper the 5.3 should have embarrassed my 307 headed Olds 350, it didn't. Some of us are not fans and never will be. A NA LS build will never touch the torque of this Cad V8 build.

The 4.8/5.3 are arguably better under extreme boost/performance conditions than the 6.0. They have the fat cylinders and the 4.8 in particular has a short stroke which makes for a good rod ratio.

Apples to oranges anyhow. Sorry for the threadjack.

Moved my 275-40/20 Nitto 555s over to a set of 20x10s.

No wonder you run so much pressure in the 555s!

Man I am shocked at how hard this car hooks up even on the 255 radials. It spins them hard but moves the car out fast.
I run 20psi in the 20" Nittos and 28psi in the 15" Nittos. Both sets of Nittos hook extremely well on the street. I need to get this thing to the track.
