I never knew this car existed, it's freaking awesome! If the GN had 450 reliable horsepower in 1981, I can only imagine what cars today would have.

What a rip off. Cool but $280 grand cool, no way in hell! Prototype, not really other the block, really an aftermarket effort but very impressive for 1981. I wonder how well it really runs on the street but at $280,000 would you want to drive it?

Here's where my restmod brain gets the best of me. I get trying to restore a Hot Rod Special. But it was 1981- blow through carb, no OD, and 14" wheels. I couldn't do it; there would be a Sniper, 2004r, and bigger wheels.

To be clear, the 280,000 was what the fugly white 84 Regal owner had the car up for, I assume he sold it for considerably less. At one point prior to fugly regal owner's ownership, the engine was sold to the Petersen Museum for 60k.
Here's more links with more info:

that ad where the asking price was $200 was in 2011, the ad I posted is from August of 2018 so I doubt this owner bought it back in 2011 or paid anywhere close to that asking price.
