that ad where the asking price was $200 was in 2011, the ad I posted is from August of 2018 so I doubt this owner bought it back in 2011 or paid anywhere close to that asking price.
Ah, didn't see that. I mean, I kinda understand, but cmon man. It's literally the rarest thing ever done to a g body, but it's just the engine. Anyone can paint up (not correctly I may add) an 81 regal to match. Hell, anyone now can do exactly what he did for a 10th of his asking price and have more power, more gear, bigger better brakes, etc.

he saw a chance to flip something rare, he polished up the aluminum, gave the engine a quick paint job, stuffed trhe engine in a cleaner G body and is trying to sell a one of engine with a lot of glitter, no substance

I'd keep the thing. It's just such a cool piece of Buick memorabilia.

At 450 hp, I wonder if the original car had any reinforcing?

Here's where my restmod brain gets the best of me. I get trying to restore a Hot Rod Special. But it was 1981- blow through carb, no OD, and 14" wheels. I couldn't do it; there would be a Sniper, 2004r, and bigger wheels.
You are kind of describing my car. As for 450 horsepower, I doubt it. With that setup it would be detonating to pieces at that power level, unless it is a high octane fuel deal. No intercooler, no veritable timing, carberated, and no alcohol injection. There was a cooler factory blower setup for sale recently for the old 3.8. Prototype for the future 3800 supercharger. I think it sold for like 1500 bucks. Way cooler!

Let's recap: Gale Banks, Kenne Bell, odd ball "HD" block, alcohol injection... add 2 turbos; I don't doubt the 450 figure for a second. Now, call it "reliable", and I'll start the argument...

The alcohol injection would help but a carb twin turbo, talk about a PIA to get right.
