yes exactly. the 442 was rusted out everywhere, and even deformed in the chassie. It would have been a nightmare to restore. It may not look that bad on the pictures. Even the frame was chopped bits of.
I was just finished with the rust on my Supreme chassie.
But still I miss some inner front fenders. It was just so insanely expensive to ship them. Maybe I have to ask turbov6 to chop them in half to lower the shipping costs 🙂
If I were you. I would still keep the T-top roof. If you don't plan on restoring it, you could possibly sell it to someone else in Europe who wants it bad enough.

Update on the project. Its been a while. For now I have decided to drop the t-tops conversion. It will only cost me more money to get the parts for it that needs to be replaced, and I'm afraid to destroy the entire body structure. But at least I won't get the t-tops leak problem..
A lot have been done since last time. The summer is over and its time to work hard on my Cutty.
The doors from the 442 has been patched up and ready to mount.

I also got the package from USA with inner steel fenders that I got from "turbov6" 🙂 Thanks.
Will be back later when I have done more, cheers!

Great work...
Looks great...
I hope you didn't throw away the T-top roof. If I were you, I would hold onto it, especially considering how rare it is in your country to possess one. You could always order the T-top replacement repair panel from gbodyparts.com and a weatherstripping kit and have it on standby just incase you ever get the urge to make it a T-top. What else are you lacking on your build? It seems as if you have all of your sheet metal. Do you have all of your interior pieces? I'm always excited to see American classics restored overseas because you all put in a lot of great work. I was in Czech Republic this past summer with my girlfriend whose originally from there. A couple friends that live there went to that big American car show in The Netherlands if I'm not mistaken called Rotterdam I think. Over a thousand classic American cars that have been restored by people from all over Europe were there from what I was told.

Thanks for the great reply 🙂
Yes the body's got all the sheet metal now. Only thing I need to pick up is the left front fender but there's a place here that have it ready for me. And I also need the rear bumper chrome piece. Found one on ebay, but didn't win the auction because the clock were 4 AM at auction end.. And I fell asleep.. hehe.
But I have asked someone to make a piece for me in glassfibre. Its going to be all black anyway.
Yes I still got the t-top roof. Its for sale, but its not easy to find a buyer.
I think I've heard of that car show on the news. One thing I like about this car, is that they are not very common in Norway. I've seen ONE on the road that I can remember, and that was a pre-facelift. I like the 81' best. It were actually just a random us car I found for sale when I were looking for a rwd veteran car.. Then I found this and immediatly went up to buy it. After that, I fell in love with these cars. When this car is done I'm going to keep it for the rest of my life. This is my first total restoration project, damn its a lot of work! 🙂

Hi peeps, this is not a big update but.. wanted to show you how rotted my rear bodymounts were.

I had to make a new structure underneath the body and I think it came out nice 🙂 I'm holding the old body mount, or whats left of it.
The bodymount nut is saved and threaded so it can be used again. And I have made new nut cage to weld on so that nut does'nt spin round n round n round....
But I guess I need some new bolts from gbodyparts 😉
I'll be back soon with bigger updates when I have welded up the frame etc.

Great work!
A word of advice, that t-top roof isn't a factory top... It looks like a Cars & Concepts modified roof.
They can be tough to find parts for, and if I was going to go thru all that work I'd want factory tops...
If you did want to use the C&C top, you can actually just use it as a template for how to modify your existing roof instead of removing it and welding on another...

Ha! Guess I should've looked more carefully at all the pictures...
Those are indeed factory tops.
The picture of the roof sitting on the floor without all the trim on it tricked my eyes.
Keep up the good work!

that definitely looks like factory T tops to me, blow up your pic view to 400%, the car definitely has the factory pin latches.

Hi folks! Going to show you what I've been doing lately.
Finishing the body welding here. Making new "nut-cage", and fender drop-off

The front passenger side bodymount also needed new sheetmetal
oldsen_pic109w.jpg

Everything I have welded on this car has been done by cutting and shaping new sheetmetal. I've done almost the same repairs on the other side as well, just did'nt see the point uploading pictures of it.
I'm looking forward to how it will look with some coats of black arcanol paint 🙂
