Still loving the tail light trim. JAck, your bumper looks great and I will be copying how tight yours is for mine, lol.

Thanks Jim! My one concern is being able to shorten the tailgate cables. With the clearance being closer to the bumper, the cables can't drop as much as the used to. Do you know who might sell replacement swage eyes?

BTW Josh, I still like the taillight trim as well. If you ever consider making a few more sets, let us know.

x2 on the taillight trim. :?:

Jack, let me respond in your thread. 😀

C'mon Josh...get busy.

All the more reason to produce these things.. No excuses.. 🙂

What did you use to make these, aluminum?

The taillight trim is actually made out of black plastic, but if I were to do it again I would make out of aluminum, cut on a waterjet, and powdercoat to match the wagons other trim. I do still have the template, maybe I will get with a machine shop to see if it makes sense as it looks like there is interest on here to sell them. I just realized how long it has been since I updated this build thread. The wagon is actually mostly done (they are never really done!!!), and the interior is complete. I was using as a daily until I realized my fuel injectors were leaking pretty bad, so I took it off the road and ordered up some newer, larger injectors and matching chip. They are due to arrive on Friday, so I will get installed on Sat. and get back to cruising. I need to get some updated pics of the wagon, especially the interior so I can post.....I will put it on my to do list for Saturday shop day 😀 Here is some updated outside shots I had on my phone...

The car came out great, Brian.
I really like the two tone combination of black and silver...and it looks at home with the GTA wheels.
Nice work man! Glad to hear that you're getting the engine situation sorted out.

Oh, if you do plan on producing the taillight accents, let us know.
Just a note, the '78 style is slightly different where the backup light is positioned.

I liked those taillight trim pieces, they are a nice addition to the plain Jane taillight lenses we have on these long roofs.
