Danm Toby, That sucks ! How far back doe's this changes things ?
Are you still going to make the GM nationals ? I was gonna try and
make it just to see your car inperson.
Gbarrie.

Oh man, that suxs man. maybe you'll have it fixed before the nice comes.

well this does change everything. This means a complete rebuild with machine work, larger cam, alcohol, ported intake, ported heads, larger turbo, stall converter, etc. How long, not sure. This is definately a kick in the pocket book. It seems the engine took a dump because of a bent crank. It was a tell tale sign of the wear on the thrust bearing sides. The donor car had been hit hard in the rear, enough to bend the axle and the energy was translated into the engine. In the meantime ill finish all the work I can to the exterior and finish it to a T. This way it will be ready for the heart beat when it gets finished and paid for. The engine will leave to be transported to the engine builder next week.

well it was not Buicks fault for the issue at hand. If the crank is bent which we feel it was, it was doomed from the beginning.

Today I had the sad daunting task of removing all the wiring, accessories, the headers, etc to prep it for removal. I plan on setting it on a pallet this week heading for the professional builder.

So it will have the following added :
comp cam 206 with a new timing chain and lifters as well as new springs
Ported iron champion heads
Ported Intake from Champion
Alcohol injection kit at the throttle body
67MM (i think) turbo cased in the factory housing for clearance to the factory position on the intake to the hood scoop
2800-3000 stall converter
New transmission
60lb injectors
bored 20,40 60 over
wiseco pistons

All this will compliment the current existing modifications made

2.5 ATR down pipe
Duttweiler headers
3" RJC racing exhaust
Turbo Tweek chip
Ported throttle body
ported exhaust elbow
4" big mouth intake
Adjustable fuel regulator
walbro 255 with a hot wire

With all these new mods with the existing ones i will have one pretty fast 11 second hot air turbo

Yeh if it was bent from a hit then its not anyone's fault. I just hate when things fail for people as I know how much time you have invested and I know how I would feel. I know you will press along and make this thing better then new and it should be a fun build.

So the engine went bye bye for a bit. I guess Ill take some time to clean up the bay again. It was really nice but all the painting etc has made havoc of it again.

Found a new hoodliner for my hot air turbo for $50....a steal and even local. So I put that on so it would not only look better, but also keep the hood cool

the old one

Came across a NOS grille for the front end to look nice and uniform. Having the old one with everything being new bugged me.

old one

Got all the rest of the interior items dyed and cleared, just need to install them

The wing was repaired of its crack, epoxy primed and painted black. Just need to wetsand and buff

Only one quarter left to wet sand and buff! Here is the drivers side buffed and sanded 1000,1500,2000,3000 Abralon, Bodymagic Synthetic compound and Mirka Polarshine, and meguiars 26
