All done, body mounts all replaced, bumpers about to be reinstalled.
 
The body mounts really made a difference. It feels less of a "bucket of loose bolts", and more solid.

I have been driving around, going for small errands, enjoying the car, before the next change, see below. It's a 3.73, limited slip 7.5". A bit overkill with the cover, but once all assembled and painted black, will look and feel ok.

Can't wait to see the difference with a 3.73 / 200-4R.

Got beautiful Speedway Seville-style calipers, etc.
 
Before I start welding the caliper brackets on the diff, I checked for clearance between my Pontiac 15" wheels and the calipers, and it will require a spacer. I already use a spacer for the looks, now it will be a functional thing.

Also, note to self: check clearance for the lifesaver spare tire. I have bad memories about that...!

Slowly removing the old diff. It's been years, but I did remember things such as - 3/4 socket for the lower shock bolt; 1/2 socket & key for the upper shock mounts; and 9/16 socket & key for the sway bar.

Next up - removing the parking brake cables, then the brake line, driveshaft, finally the lower & upper control arms.

Order from Summit came in - upper / lower control arms, tires, 3" trim rings, etc.

Tire order is messed up - I ordered four 215/70R15, but ended up with two 215/70R15 and two 215/75R15 :/

I will have to deal with this. Would have loved to have 70s all around... :/

What rims do you have on the car? Yeah a 215/75R15 is getting to be a pretty big tire on a G body. It is 3/4 of an inch taller and drop rpm at 60 mph by about 50 rpm. Are you going whitewall out?

Lifted & body mounts removed / replaced. Tomorrow, bolting these, and then preparing the car for the driver side 🙂

The car had a #5 body mount installed! Quite a surprise 🙂

Question: In this picture, you have all mounts unbolted on both sides and you are jacking under the rocker to insert new upper mounts? How is the number 5 replacement mount held in place (I saw no bolt)?

#5 is just placed into a hole in the frame. It is held in place by the weight of the body itself.
