Re: SBC 355 Build (UPDATED WITH PICTURES 6-12-11)

Looking good!!! I bet you want that thing running like yesterday by now.. Are those pushrod chromemoly or hardened? otherwise the guide plates will eat them right up. Just checking wouldnt want you to have problems later.

Re: SBC 355 Build (UPDATED WITH PICTURES 6-12-11)

Are those ARP screw in studs? If they are DO NOT use those standard rocker nuts you have. They specifically state not to use the interference style not on their studs, they will back off. Ask me how I know

Re: SBC 355 Build (UPDATED WITH PICTURES 6-12-11)

Just went through and read all your thread here. I see they are comp. I would write them or give them a ring before you tighten everything down. I trashed my ARP studs using the same interference nuts you have. The rockers kept backing off and could not figure out why, I did some reading and found out the nuts were the reason. Do you know your deck height or piston to valve clearance, head gasket thickness? I am thinking 64cc heads with 2 valve relief pistons would net you over 10:1. Anyhow, nice looking set up. Looks like a stout build. Goodluck!

Re: SBC 355 Build (UPDATED WITH PICTURES 6-12-11)

Chris.O <--- I Have Done The Research I Should Be Right Around 9.7:1 or a little higher, My Heads Are Not Exactly 64cc As Most GM Cast Heads Are Not Exactly What The Say They Are Without Proper Machining. Ill Be Happy If I Can Obtain A 400Hp!
