Re: Got the New rally Rims on My cutty

I think the Iroc's looked ok the problem is they have always been known as a Chevy rim and you have an Olds besides the Cutlass rally rims look way better on there, too bad they are not 15" though it opens up more options for tires.

yeh , if it was a monte or a malibu Irocs could pass.
as for tires im thinking taller BF goodrinch White letter tires to fill the Wheels wells better.
Now for my list of things to do with this car.

1-New Tires
2- Dual Exhaust
3-Engine swap
4-Suspension upgrades / Shocks and springs.
5.Transmisson
6-Rear end.
7- Clone it into a 442 with buckets and floor shift and paint job Burgendy 442
All of these upgrades will be done under a budgit build and I have zero experince so it will be a long Build thread but im looking forward

Re: Got the New rally Rims on My cutty

Looks 100 percent better. Olds rallyes are just it.

Re: Got the New rally Rims on My cutty

Looking good with the Oldsmobile rally wheels! I'm a big sucker for rally's.. 😀 Your car is mint, one of the best kept cars I've seen. Wish my old '86 Cutlass Supreme Brougham was as clean as yours. Looking forward to your build progress, no matter how slow. 8) Mine hasn't been off to the slow paced walk I though it would be at by now, but very recently (today actually..) my uncle agreed to help me with the build. He has the space and the tools compared to where I'm living right now, so should move along soon enough. Landlord wont let any form of car wrenching. Even oil changes could get us evicted.. Sounds like a fun build plan for sure though. Keep us posted!

Re: Got the New rally Rims on My cutty

I love your car, the colour is awesome. I might paint my 88 the same colour or close. What trans do you have, 3spd or OD? If it is the 2004r, should be, just get a shop that knows them to overhaul it. I would go no less than 3.42's gears with the OD, under 2000rpm at 60 mph.

Damn not even a oil change thats crazyness. And thanks I plan to keep this car clean and well kept I was lucky to find a Gbody that has never seen winter and I will keep it that way. As for my build I think next winter I will do the engine swap but with the 3.8 at only 52 000 Km's i dont know if i should fix something that isnt broken. It dose leak a little oil though.

The car has the 3 speed Trans. Im thinking 2004r aswell with the same gear setup as a Grandnational. with the 8.5 or ford 9 inch rear end as for the engine im in the limbo between crate 350 sbc or a buick 3.8 turbo intercooled but ive heard most GN motors need a complete rebuild and that aint cheap.[/quote]

BTW I am sure you seen this cat-back exhaust on Kijiji. Hard to go wrong with the look of dual exhaust for $100

Thats exactly what I want the stock exhaust look. Just need to wait for me next pay lol. As for crusing what crusies do you attend id like to travel ive been to big petes on Friday evning and that usally is a stand and corvette fest but a few GN's show up.

It is pretty crazy, but we live with it as we have too. Your welcome though. 😉 It is nice to see one that hasn't seen winter, especially up there where your at. We have salt spread on the roads here.. Which has me double guessing using my Grand Prix as a daily driver in winter.. I could Port15 everything underneath though.

Agreed.. Though, for an engine, I wouldn't look past on using a SBO or BBO engine. I'm no purist, as I was going to put my Buick 350 or keep the Chevy 305 (luck shined on me and now I can do a 400 or 455 Pontiac engine), but it's always nice to see a matching combo. 🙂 Plus, it seems that most of the people on here are Oldsmobile fans, and can give you good information on the subject. Though parts are readily available for a SBC, cheap, and there is nothing wrong with any of the GM SB and BB engines. Either way, you seem to be heading in a good direction so far. 8)
