I'm using an aftermarket evaporator that fits under the dash behind this panel where the old HVAC box was:

Wanted to keep the interior as stock as possible. Those aftermarket basic black knobs look like they are from the 50's or 60's and the fancy billet knobs just look out of place.

Awesome work man...got me inspired.

Spent this evening bolting the intake and new serpentine brackets in place.

Unfortunately when torquing down the intake bolts I believe two of them stripped out. So it looks like I'll be pulling it all back apart again and installing heli-coils.

I don't believe so.

I don't really have a way to check it other than comparing it with my other torque wrench. I tightened a bolt to 30ft/lbs with the 3/8 drive wrench and then used my 1/2" drive torque wrench set to the same spec and it broke away at the same setting. So I would think the one I used was pretty close to spec unless both of my wrenches happen to be off by the same amount.

The Snap On TQ wrench's that we have can be sent in for re-calibration. What style of wrench do you have?

Re: 1987 Olds Pro-touring project build *LONG*

Are your brake lines chrome? Mine are chrome but the chrome is starting to peel. I either need to get some new ones that are already chromed or get mine re-chromed. If I do that I'll have to get some other parts re-chromed and it's gonna get expensive.
