Well, I was hoping that I could put a longer bolt in and solve the problem but it was a no go. I checked the bolt length and it had plenty of engagement.

When I unscrewed the bolt, this is what was still on the threads of the bolt:

At first I thought it was a heilcoil but it's too rough and jagged to be one of those. It actually looks like the aluminum just sheared off perfectly from the outside of the threads.

Just need to pull the intake (again!) and fix all of the bolt holes with helicoils.

This is an awesome project. A real inspiration in many, many ways.

That's a nice cutlass. what's left on the to do list? Also can we be expecting some up dates in the near future?

Besides the body work there's a lot of little things left to do.

Right now I'm working on wiring up the new EFI setup temporarily to get it back up and running. Hopefully should have things close by the end of the month.

Very nice,will the car look just like the rendering or will it be used as a guideline.

I didn't do the rendering. I had Shawn with Mascoll Designs draw it up. I just added the pinstripes and decals in PhotoShop.
