Was able to get out all my body mount bolts in one piece.

Holy crap!!! I still can't believe it!!!!

These were the worst ones passenger side toque box that I knew was rotted already but it still came out easy!!!!

And the drivers side toque box on the left rotted down a bit close to the head.

You need to go buy a lottery ticket!!!!! That doesn't happen often....I had to cut 4 holes in the trunk area for the top halves of the bolts to come out. The bottom halves of the bolts were maybe 1/8" in diameter from rot!!!!

Well I am at a dead stop.

Not sure what to do...... Winter is coming and I have a barely 1 car garage.

I can't block up the driveway because the Malibu will then be stuck inside.

When the body bolts all came out I was excited to get this Monte going.

Now I jack up the body a bit to check the chassis and of coarse the mount holes are rotted.

At least the front 2 are.... haven't checked the others yet

I know this is common but is the time and money going to be spent worth it???

Especially since you can go out and buy a Monte that runs and drives in better shape for 2kish

Another thing is I was never a huge fan of the Monte's but I like this one since it is an LS with the Euro nose.

What to do?!?!?!?!?!?!!??!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Call Garage Squad?!?!?!!?!?!?!?

pass side floor of torque box is rotted out

I love how it rotted out perfectly!!!

pass side

driver side toque box is ok but cage around nut is half broke.

I would say take the time and effort to repair the holes, I have seen plenty of super clean cars on here that still end up with the same issues you are having and these are people that paid the price for what they thought was a "mint" car, and I think the LS looks unique but still sporty and even better since you removed the chrome.

Got out the body lifting wood this morning before the rain came.

Lifted the body up to see what other chassis damage there was.

Looks like I will need to weld 5 washers in.

You're right at the point I'm at. Only the #1's, 3's and 5's aren't crap on mine. It amazes me how my quarters and rockers are mint and the bushing holes are junk. After I drove the car from LI to Colorado I also had to replace the trans crossmember and upper rear control arms they were so thin with rust.
