From what I understand, the cable on the TH350 is a downshift. The 200R4 builds pressure as you throttle up, per my local trans shop. Again, per the shop, the correct throttle cable bracket is essential to the life of the 200. A holley carb, needs a holley 200/700R4 bracket. (wondered why all those brac in jegs) An Edelbrock carb needs an Edelbrock bracket. We had a 200R4 rebuilt in 87 elco. It didn't work rite till the bracket was installed.
