I can't get the right cable to save my life, have tried both cables in the pictures from Autozone. One fits the shifter but not the trans and the other one fits the trans and not the shifter. Can someone tell me if I have the right bracket and shifter. Also I am trying to see where that vacuum line goes. See pictures:

that is a pretty bracket but looks like the wrong one unfortunately. I assume ( like me ) you swapped from the 350/350c trans to the 2004r. When I swapped I tried to make the 350c cable and bracket work with the 2004r trans. Then the 2004r cable with 350c bracket ( still too short ). Either the bracket is wrong, you have the incorrect shifter, or the wrong cable. Not 100% on the shifter either. Doesn't look like the one I used on my monte. I know the BOP were all specific.

In the end I had the wrong trans bracket ( probably have pics somewhere ). I then resorted to make my own. I took the 350c bracket and cut it lengthwise at the bend ( removing that whole 6" flat section where the shifter cable clips on ) and welded on a piece of flat bar in its place. Clamp the flat bar to the orig bracket to drill holes for securing the bracket later.. Then hogged out the flat bar side to make a groove. Now with 2 bolts thru the orig bracket into the grooves with nuts on the other side I have an adjustable bracket that will slide 2". Or you can find someone with the proper trans bracket.

regarding the vacuum line. If you are referring to the one from the 350c/350 trans to the vacuum modulator on the side. It is not needed on the 2004r as it uses a TV cable instead. I looked thru my phone and bucket but no pics of the bracket I made.

Sorry the vacuum line is part of the AC/Heater lines under the dash. Thanks for looking for the pics.

Here's a couple pics of the factory detent bracket and the cable for a 200-4R on my 86 SS. The bracket on your trans pan looks to be the same. The cable length from where it clips into that bracket to the center of the cable eyelet with the shifter in park is 6 5/8" Sorry for the crummy image quality.
