I know it's been asked, but I need a rundown of what I need for the swap. My 200r4 is done, clunks into 2nd, 4th is gone, and from a stop it's a shitshow... SO I have to do the swap pretty much. What do I need? I'm hoping all I really need is a driveshaft since I have access to one easily. I know the 200r4 is better in almost every way, but I dont have money for a rebuild, and I have a turbo 350 just kinda sittin around.

If you go with the TH350, you'll need a different cross member as well as a longer drive shaft. What's better? Well, that depends on how you drive the car. Daily driver....go with the TH200-4r. Weekend warrior....the TH350 is your best bet, especially if you have a heavy foot. OD transmissions can be built to take abuse, but it aint cheap. You can rebuild (stock) a TH350 for about $100 yourself.

I read that if you use a short tail 350, and it's an 84 and up gbody the driveshaft should work...
Any truth to this?

And what would the length be for the driveshaft for the 350? I've got a line on one, just need to know the length to be sure.

Use the same driveshaft, the difference of the two is too small to matter.

I'm considering doing the same swap with my 86 Monte Carlo SS..Where would one find a crossmember?
When measuring driveshaft length, You go from the tailshaft to the differential input, correct?
