2014 Champbell Hausfield 80 gallon compressor, It Works! Kinda

I did some more reading yesterday cause it made no sense to me why all the guys setting up a 240v compressor used a common 2 pole breaker. Turns out I had the 2 pole breaker installed incorrectly. The way I had it installed was to use it for 2 120V circuits. It does send 240v volts by line 1 and 2 but it has no way to alternate the current to allow the motor to run. The way I need to install the breaker is like in the picture so it can alternate the current. I had the breaker installed in between the dividers.

Main panels usually alternate legs down each side, so if you put a two pole in, it would work.

Yours looks like you could pull from the same leg. Could create a short that way.

It didn't even dawn on me until I saw the pic of that cute little blue and white breaker. I bet your panel is mounted horizontally and you're running metric current. CH is configured for American freedom units only. You've got some major retrofit ahead of you.

Hint:
Panels are always upright and vertically mounted. This is a ready-fight stance.

Also, real circuit breakers only come in 1 color -- black. They should be blocky and have dangerous, pointed corners.

Panels should never, ever be mounted horizontally. This is a lazy, surrender position. American freedom units will not recognize this as a proper distribution component and keep searching for a worthy path.

And never, under any circumstances, should a breaker be colorful. Electricity has no tolerance for frivolity. And for bacon sake, no smooth, soft, rounded edges. It's not a Ford Contour.

Now that I've shown you right vs Canadian, you need to reevaluate your situation and make the necessary adjustments.

that picture was just an online picture to show what I mean (a picture is worth more than a 1,000 words in my case) The breaker box is instsalled in the upright position. The Snap Loc breakers come in different colors depending on the brand, white beige, gray and black

I continue to be amazed by the love of popcorn many of you have. I like popcorn but I think bouncing b**bs make a better place holder so....
