2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Reveal

The roof line is too low and the hood line is too high on the new camaros. I liken it to an old first gen camaro in widescreen.

They still don't look right and need more revamping to be right.

I'd rather have a fast ugly car than a slow beautiful one. 99% of cars will just see the ZL1's taillights, anyway and they look fine.

The driver seat, steering wheel, gages and pedals - everything your body touches or sees (including the door panel/knee interface when pulling 1.1G on the skidpad) are nearly perfect on the 2017 camaro.

I hope EVERYONE doesn't like the 2017 camaro and they are cheap in a couple years, because I couldn't build a car that good for 1/2 of what they are currently selling for without it being a complete roach.

I'd rather have a car I could see out of. Or one that I don't have to fold up on entry/exit like I do with a slammed car even tho its a foot off the ground

Dumb question. It's a purpose made drag car.

Dumb answer, if NHRA won't let it drag. 😵

But my how seriously people take this topic, especially those who will never own any of these cars. 😛

In general, please refer to my next post after the one replied to.

I think it's cool that the performance V8 has new life. GM started the revival with the LS line, Fiat is trying to compete. I'll leave it at that.

Nhra won't stop you from racing a new demon. Only the test car is banned. As long as you run a slow enough time you're legal

Speaking of Fiat .... The other day some chick in one of those little things was weaving through 45 zone traffic at what seemed like freeway speed. Lately I've noticed that most of the urgent feet around here seem to be women in their 20s and 30s. Mostly Japanese and German makes, but that little Fiat took the prize. 😀

The LS has had competition from ford and mopar since it came out. NHRA won't not let it race at their tracks, you just can't pull a 9.65 your first time out with no safety equipment or a roll cage and expect to come back. You can run 11.50s and be fine, but as soon as you dip into consisten low 11s, they will make you get a cage or you can't race. It's just rules. As others have said, the cage would've altered the crumple zones and the structure of the car, so it would have to go through years and millions of dollars in RnD to make sure that it'd be "safe" enough to sell to the general public and even then it still might not pass crash tests. If you're serious about buying one, you can spend a few grand for a decent cage.
