I'm not a Mopar person in the least, in fact I've always disliked Chrysler, even more so now that they are Italian-owned, but this is balls-out insane. I still don't fully know what to make of it, I'll have to wait and see the official pricing and the response from GM and Ford. Supercar manufacturers must be pissed as hell having the fastest production car title given to a Dodge.

A very cool way to get people talking about the brand if nothing else.

I'll say one other thing too and then I'll shut up.

In this day and age, when being 'european' is the 'it' thing to do, at least Dodge doesn't try to act like something they aren't.

While Ford and GM are trying to build sportier, smaller, more European-looking cars, here is Dodge building big, heavy, fast, V8, RWD, American-looking cars. They don't try and act like they are something else. As much as I don't like Chrysler, kudos to them for doing that.

Reason for it is a very quick car that as long as no major changes were made is covered under warranty when you break it

I agree on the older Dodge's running shitty, I owned them. Even my 2000 Dakota has hokey programming like forgetting how to idle if the battery gets low. Also crap like cracking heads and a steel pan on an aluminum intake, really? The Challenger looks like a Muscle car and I want for a fun driver that we get in and go anywhere and get compliments, trust me we do. The 70S is my cool old car, not sure what the G body is, fun while it lasts I guess.

. FCA's warranty for all models – meaning the new Alfas, Challengers and Chargers, including those of the Hellcat variety and other SRT models – states in oversized bold text: "Racing Not Covered." Under that heading the paragraph reads, "Your warranties don't cover the costs of repairing damage or conditions caused by racing, nor do they cover the repair of any defects that are found as the result of participating in a racing event."

So it's "a purpose made drag car," except not quite, because to get the advertised ETs you need thousands of dollars more in third-party equipment, which is not well suited to the street use the car is actually sold for. And then there's insurance.

EDIT: And then toss in the warranty, as pontiacgp just noted.

That's where the loophole lawyers come in. I used to be BIG into bmx. Trashed a wheel coming off a jump while racing. Haro tried to get out of it by claiming the same thing. I threatened to sue as the as delivered bike was marketed for racing specific purposes(just like the demon) I got a new wheel via FedEx three days later. As the demon is specifically sold for racing(would be kinda hard to claim otherwise even without their marketing with more than one seat being a paid option) and they claim it has a warranty they would have to cover it

The oes can right whatever they want in the fine print but they still have to follow the law. Racing is clearly the intended purpose. There's actually a lot of medications they try to void warranties over(like cold air intakes and exhaust) but it is actually illegal in the USA to do so. Luckily dealers etc are so jumpy about lawsuits all you have to do is mention lawyer and you'll get your way lol
