When things don't exist, you make them. It all starts with a template.

Funny thing is 1/8" aluminum doesn't bend nearly as easy as pizza boxes. Took a few tweaks to get the contour and pitch correct.

It is bolted under the battery tray, and had to make an encapsulated bolt and an encapsulated nut to tie into the spare tire mounts. Still have a bit more reinforcement and refinement to go. Plus, I have to rework the bottle bracket to hinge open vs. whatever the hell they are doing now... and wait for the 5.5L tank to arrive to mount it.

Then.

Wiring.

Joy.

Story of my life lately.
I will safely say that this is one of your life motto's, whether you believe it or not.

Kinda like 'have gun will travel' with a minor modification 'have cutoff wheel, metal, welder and grinder....will travel'

:friday:

Made some progress on the trunk mount. Took a lot of time doing that decorative insert... because reasons. With that, the tab, and the reinforcement under the runs it is significantly more rigid. I have a few more additions to make - but it is solid enough that you can rock the car with it.

Reworking the bottle brackets has been a nightmare. Mostly on the clasp/clamp side. It's all getting cut apart and remade. For the third time.

Tomorrow is another day.

I was thinking you could use the clamp as its own jig and weld a hinge to it, then cut.

First order of business was to solve the bottle bracket fiasco. So I made some t-bolts and that rectified the problem.

Next up was reinforcing the hold down tab behind the bottle. In the event of a roll-over I'd prefer not to have the bottle go walkabout. So I made a ring that sandwiches the floor pan between a heat shield and the tab. She's tight again.

Then I made another PTFE line to connect the outlet of the pump to the mainline to the engine bay. I am getting better at it, but -4AN is a biatch.

Tatiana and I mounted the pump together. She hung out with me for hours being a second set of hands and talking about rock and roll. Evidently she wants a license plate that says: ACDCRLZ

But, now I am waiting on some parts and need to start on the wiring in the meantime. Boo.

My 1st concert with my Dad at 12 was acdc. Still the best show I've seen. She has good taste. I think my son fell in love the first time I let him hear big balls.
