I improved the power and acceleration noticeably on my 1979 231 V6 simply by switching to non ethanol clear gas.

Ebay turbo kit, headers and Chinese turbo(8-12 psi) then top it off with a Fitech system. Gear to 3:42-3:73 and stall to 2400-2600 rpm. Feed it E85. All else remains the same save for fuel system upgrades and exhaust, basically.

I never really thought about that but my 84 seems to like to corner better the the 83However, these little motors weigh considerably less than a small block, and sit almost entirely behind the front axle line. That almost makes a G-body handle fairly well.
