On my regal swap. After getting the 350 in how do I figure out where all the plugs and grounds go? I have alldata but cant find anything specific. Thanks

A factory service manual.

will every plug have a place to go because this 350 is 87-95 and the v6 car is 82. All of the plugs are labeled red and with a number or red a b. Is there anything online that tells what they are?

Ok, so after alot of reading this is what I figured out.

I don't need any of the wires coming out of the passenger side as they are for sensors and such...? Eventually I can remove them...?

The brown alternator wire does not plug into my alternator (driver side). What needs to be done?
No wire will plug into the Harrison a/c compressor (passenger side). How do I get that hooked up?
I'm pretty sure I know which one is the starter wire as I read it was the purple one.
I read the green wire is the temperature sending unit. What exactly is that and where is it located?
The pink wire is for the distributor but I have a HEI and there is no where for it to plug into it.

Thanks

IMO woulda been a whole lot easier if you went with a first gen 350. Follow the service manual as that provides wiring diagrams for both the v6 and the v8. From that point you should be able to put both v6 and v8 diagrams side by side and trace out the wiring.

Those are the best ones for power, right? I really couldn't be too picky as money wouldn't allow me to rebuild an engine. This wasn't a bad deal though. $700 for a crate motor with (says) 15,000 miles on it, when we removed the intake the gasket didn't look like it was on there too long plus not all the paint on the block was gone. Even if it was 50,000 miles its still a good price to me. 87-95 Had the hole punched and the lobes on the cam for a mechanical fuel pump. The motor was complete too except for the starter. It was TBI so I couldn't use the upper stuff. This swap is taking me forever mainly because I can only work on it one day out of the week but now I have a little more time on my hands. I'm loving it though because I have learned alot so far. Working on cars is fun to me, can be frustrating though mainly because I don't know what I'm doing. There are so many cars for cheap on craigslist that just need one part that may require a lil engine digging but if u can fix it yourself then you sell that car for double (or more) you paid for it. Or work on other peoples cars. Whats better than working from home?

Alright I went 12 different directions here but back on topic. Say I got the wires figured out but they just don't plug up correctly. How do I get them to the right way? For example, the alternator has 4 prongs but the plug for it goes to the v6 alternator with 2 prongs.

In case you need it, here is the color code for the wire on the passenger side. This is my guide on swapping the SBC V8 in place of a Buick V6. I used a pre 86 block. You may need to cut some wires and lenghten others to get things to fit.

As for your alternator, it sound like you have a later version. Does it require a weather pack connector?

Hey, thanks. That's one of the threads I've been using, man was I happy when I reread and saw the wire color labels. I'm not sure about the weather pack connector. Here I came across this picture that shows my setup.

Your codes mention a splice in the red wires for the HVAC system. I wasn't sure what splice meant but would the wire your referring to hook to my a/c compressor (left). That is also what my alternator looks like on the right. Do they sell adapters for this kind of stuff?
