I have a low mileage 3 speed manual transmission I was driving my Malibu tonight thinking man I could stick that thing in my car it's out of a 67 nova wagon I put on the back burner I'm just missing shifting gears what do u guys think worth it or not

I definately prefer a stick shift. If you change your mind on the 3 speed, I have a G-Body saginaw 4-speed, Chevrolet pattern bellhousing, G-Body fork and Hurst Competition Plus shifter I won't be using. They are all listed in the parts section. I also have a stock G-Body shifter.

Yea the only thing holding me from doing it is well is a 3 speed not really a improvement I guess but I do have it and and the pedal and every thing out of the other car only thing I would need is the floor shifter I all so have a 5 speed out of a 4.3l s10 I totaled but I would have to rebuild it be cause it has a lot of shaft play

A 3 speed could be fun. I'm an overdrive man so I'm going back with a T5 out of a 91 IROC. That's why I don't need my 4 speed.

It depends on your budget and how fast you want to get it in the road.

Once the 3 speed is in, you can always upgrade.....

The only problem with a 3 speed is you don't do much gear shifting other than 3nd down to 2nd and back. I would never describe one as "fun". More like a farm truck and not the Street Outlaws kind of farmtruck. Swap in a manual steering box with 4 turns lock to lock for the full farm truck experience.

It may be hereditary (My dad swapped a T10 4 speed into his '56 in '58) but if you are going to the trouble of converting to manual, put in something that wasn't designed to be awful on purpose as a marketing ploy to 1) have a low advertised base price and 2) have people pay $100's more for an Auto or 4 speed.
